It’s Official…I’m done!

I am officially done with classes! I graduating! It’s crazy! My actual graduation date is this Saturday, but I am not walking in the ceremony…should receive my degree in the mail in early January 🙂 Many people don’t really know the whole story of my college career, so I will take this opportunity to share it. When I graduated high school, I never had even thought of going to a community college or get anything less than a four year degree, but the Lord had other plans. I started my first semester of college at NC State. Let’s just say, I did not like it at all! I was miserable…it was not where the Lord wanted me for the next few years and I almost instantly knew it! It took about half the semester to convince myself that I had to leave and try somewhere else; I HATED change and almost refused to leave State just because of that, but thankfully I had the support of all of my family and friends. I decided I would leave State when the semester was over and start right away at Wake Tech (I just didn’t know what I wanted to study there). As the date approached for applying to Wake Tech, I could not pinpoint an area of study. I ended up taking a semester off, which I also never saw myself doing. That semester, I got to spend a lot of time with my mom and learned more than she really even knows about taking care of a home! I am so thankful for that semester; I spent the whole time not even able to find a job until the end of the summer! I finally landed on studying early childhood and began classes at Wake Tech in the Fall of 2009. I expected to just get through the degree begrudgingly, but I ended up loving it! I was never one to love school, but I loved learning new things, being challenged, and improving skills. I am so thankful that the Lord led me to Wake Tech and the study that I did there. My college experience was atypical, challenging at times, humbling, took much patience, provided me with the knowledge I need for my career, and provided opportunities for furthering the Gospel. Im excited for all the Lord has in store for me now that I am done with college!

Today the kids at work were cracking me up! I love it! They were outside playing power rangers…it reminded me of when I was a kid. They were so cute gathering each other into a huddle as one would emerge as the leader of the pack to strategize and then they would go run around like crazy! Precious! After work, my mom, Ashley, and I went to the mall for some Christmas shopping! It was quite unsuccessful for me…couldn’t find anything to get for anyone. My mom was successful in getting a couple of outfits for all of us girls. I think I will finally get a jump start on my shopping next time I got out because I have a couple things on my list.

I was listening to some Christmas music and this song came on and I just love it! It reminds me over and over again how worthy Christ is of everything I have and all that I am. He deserves every bit of glory!

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord!

For You alone are worthy
For You alone are worthy
For You alone are worthy
Christ the Lord!

We’ll give You all the glory
We’ll give You all the glory
We’ll give You all the glory
Christ the Lord!
